The most typical of Ligurian shapes, trofie are always served with pesto and green beans when in season. The name is derived from a Greek word meaning "nourishment."

Traditionally served with pesto, little cubes of potatoes and string-beans cut the same length of the pasta. Wonderful served cold or in soups.

Cooking Time: 12-14 minutes.
